Proverbs 17:25-27

Amplified Bible

²⁵ 
A foolish son is a grief and anguish to his father
And bitterness to her who gave birth to him.
²⁶ 
It is also not good to fine the righteous,
Nor to strike the noble for their uprightness.
²⁷ 
He who has knowledge restrains and is careful with his words,
And a man of understanding and wisdom has a cool spirit (self-control, an even temper).^(A)
